ABOUT

WELCOME TO JANMAC

A proudly family owned & operated property, Janmac Poll Dorset & White Suffolk Stud is based at Goroke, in the West Wimmera region of Victoria.

The stud is run by the Hausler brothers; Grant & his wife Kerry; Bryce & wife Hannah along with Grant’s son, Carl Hausler with valued help from Travis Crawford.

A productive & diverse area, Janmac Stud produces a wide range of crops & livestock on approx. 1400 hectares selling around 210/220 Poll Dorset & White Suffolk rams at it’s annual On-Property Auction held each year in early October with private selections available after the sale.

The stud enterprise operates alongside a commercial prime lamb flock, with ewes bred from our Merino ewe base.

We have continued breeding Merinos, enjoying the production of quality wool from Glenlea Park Poll Merino bloodlines with recent infusions from Hannaton Poll Merinos.

Cropping comprises around 800 hectares of canola, wheat, beans, barley & oats with annual ryegrass, grazing oats & clovers sown for winter grazing.

OUR HISTORY

Originally founded in 1979 by Malcolm & Janet Hausler, Janmac Stud has grown to be a leading supplier of quality rams in Western Victoria the state and into the South East of South Australia.

In the early years, quality rams were purchased from well known & respected studs including Gadang, Malkay along with stock from Noel & Betty Drury’s “Austeco” stud.

Throughout the 1990’s several top Kentish Downs sheep were added to stud flock including 21-96, a massive ram who has elevated our stud’s genetics to another level.

Continuing to add new bloodlines to the existing flock has paid dividends & in 1999, Janmac were fortunate to purchase 179 top quality ewes from “Austeco.”  These large framed ewes fitted in perfectly with our own style of sheep & quickly expanded our stud group.

We also secured an outstanding group of stud ewes at the Kentish Downs dispersal sale in Holbrook adding even more depth to the stud flock.

In more recent years we have secured many big, well muscled rams from the
